Dale W. Carter, 81, of Bellefontaine passed away Saturday, Feb. 27, 2021, in The Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus.
He was born on July 23, 1939, in Portsmouth, the son of the late Orville and Hallie (Sergant) Carter. He is also preceded in death by his son, Brent Carter, great grandchild, Samantha Jean Givens, and three brothers, Burl Carter, Junior Carter, and Jake Carter.
On Oct. 10, 1958, he married the former Evelyn Timmons, and she survives in Bellefontaine.
He is also survived by his three grandchildren, Betty Jean Carter, Kayla Christine Stillings, Dalton Steven Carter, all of Bellefontaine, two great grandchildren, Lilth Jean Givens and Karson James McClincy, a brother, Larry Carter of Florida, a sister, Betty Knox of North Carolina, a daughter-in-law, Twyla Carter of Bellefontaine, two sisters-in-law, Edna Gregg of Urbana and Betty Cortez, a brother-in-law, Robert (Roberta) Timmons of Plain City and several nieces and nephews.
Dale served his country in the U.S. Air Force. He worked as a computer software specialist. He enjoyed traveling including going on cruises. He liked to watch the evening news each night and then follow that with an evening walk.
A funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 6, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 321 N. Main St. Bellefontaine. Visitation will be two hours prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Bellefontaine Cemetery with military honors provided by the Logan County Veteran Honor Guard.
