Geraldine (Gerry) Ruth Wickerham (Yoder), age 88, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 28, 2021 in Gahanna, Ohio.
She was born April 21, 1932 to the late Paul and Ruth Yoder (Smith) of West Liberty. Beloved Mother of sons Jeff (Paulette) Hendricks, David Wickerham II, Dana Wickerham, and daughter Dawn (Paul) Scott Jr. Grandmother of Kipp (Ayaka) Hendricks, Paul Scott III, and Great Grandmother of Yayoi Hendricks. She is also survived by her loving cousin Clara Alice Williamson Gordon-Young.
A 1950 graduate of Bellefontaine High School, Gerry was an accomplished pianist who went on to study music performance at Miami University before later serving as organist for the Holy Trinity Church in Bellefontaine for more than 25 years. During that time, she also maintained a long career as a medical records technician at Mary Rutan Hospital and the Logan County Health Department. Gerry later moved to the Columbus area where she served as office manager for a cardiologist practice before retiring in 2006.
At home, she enjoyed her precious cats, music and concert DVDs, reading and avidly following the Cincinnati Reds, Bengals, and Ohio State Buckeyes. But throughout her life her great pride and joy always remained her family with whom she enjoyed many holidays, vacations, Reds games, concerts and drum and bugle corps events.
The family would very much like to thank Griswold Home Health – especially Kadie who took such devoted care of Gerry the last couple of years of her life. We also recognize Brittany, Caitlyn and Chaplain Greg of Bella Care Hospice.
A private family celebration of life is planned at her home in the near future. We ask that any donations be made in Gerry’s name to Bella Care Hospice, 110 Polaris Parkway Westerville, Ohio 43082.
