Dale M. Shroyer, 70, of Ridgeway, passed away at 12:05 p.m. Tuesday, Aug. 1, 2017, at his home surrounded by his family.
He was born Oct. 10, 1946, in Kenton, a son of the late Fletcher and Wilma Watson Shroyer. On Aug. 8, 1965, Dale married Althea Shaw and she survives.
Dale is also survived by his son, Dale Shroyer of Kenton; daughters, Rhonda (Dave) McMillen of Belle Center and Teava (Charlie) Yager of LaRue; grandchildren, David Shroyer (fiancé Breyana LeMaster), Marcus Rhoades (fiancé Abigail Compton), MaKenzie Rhoades, Kasey Yager (fiancé Tyler Compton), Emily Yager and Charlie Yager; great-grandchildren, Ellie Compton and Jaci Wolfenbarger; and Zeava, his best furry friend.
He is preceded in death by his brothers, Carlos Sloan, James “Joe” Sloan and David Shroyer, along with his sister, Connie Watson.
He was a graduate of the Kenton High School class of 1965. Dale was a welder by trade retiring from Honda and he taught welding classes at Ohio Hi-Point JVS.
Dale was a member of the Ridgeway Church of Christ and the Bellefontaine Masonic Lodge 209.
A Masonic memorial service begins at 1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 5, followed by the funeral service with Pastor Cory Savage officiating at the Schindewolf Stout Crates Funeral Home, Kenton, where calling is from 10 a.m to 1 p.m. Saturday.
Memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation of Northwest Ohio and the American Diabetes Association.
