Todd I. Jordan, 48, of Jackson Center, was charged with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs related to a non-injury crash about 2:10 p.m. Tuesday on State Route 720.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report he was operating a westbound car just west of Township Road 86 when he drove off the right side of the road on a curve and his vehicle became stuck in the mud in the ditch.
While speaking with the driver at the scene, deputies observed that his speech was slurred and his eyes were red and bloodshot. Deputies also recovered open containers of alcohol in his vehicle.
Jordan refused to take field sobriety tests. He was transported to the Logan County Jail, where he also refused to take a breath test. The driver also was cited for failure to control, driving under a non-compliance suspension and failure to reinstate his license, along with a summons for an open container in a motor vehicle.
The defendant has OVI convictions from 2015 and 2007.
