Anyone who ever met Cowboy knew three things about him: number one was his love for his Lord, His love of his life was his wife Kathy, and he loved animals especially horses. Cowboy’s life was a testament to his faith. His love of people shown everywhere he went. He loved the old cowboy way of life and was surely a country gentleman. If anyone met him they never forgot him and came away feeling like old friends. He always said he loved putting a smile on people’s faces. He never minded being the butt of the joke and could take as well as he gave.
He was truly devoted to his wife and the year of his marriage is not listed because anytime someone asked him how long he had been married his response was “Not long enough”. His love of his family was so special in his life. Cowboy had friends all over the country and felt so blessed to have so many people allow him into their lives. He would help anyone that he saw that needed a hand whether alongside of the road or in his back yard. Quite often they were told that their love for each other glowed when he danced with his wife which he loved to do. They danced on a flight in first class 28,000 feet in the air going 525 mph, also in Lowes, Walmart, or anytime he heard music.
Cowboy of course loved his horses and might be seen in Jackson Center riding through the bank drive thru and stopping at the local hardware. Once taking his horse inside the hardware. At Christmas he would put lights on his saddle and buy Walmart gift cards and candy. He and Kathy would ride up to Jackson Center and hand them out to the kids. He was known for his huge Texas sized belt buckles. He was scheduled to be in a pilot series called Driver’s Lounge which was to start filming in September.
In keeping with the cowboy tradition his funeral service will be at his residence. Family would like attire to be jeans, boots and cowboy hats. No ties for this cowboy’s send off because he didn’t want no hangin.
Ryan Roser will lead a Celebration of Life service at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 27, at the 2nd Chance Ranch, 21487 Meranda Road, Maplewood, Ohio 45340.
