A final contract amendment has been signed by the Logan County Commissioners and Midstate Contractors Inc. to finish the Logan County Courthouse renovation by Nov. 12.

At more than $3.1 million, the final amendment will bring the total project cost to more than $15.4 million.
“I am glad we have cleared this hurdle and look forward to seeing the work completed,” Commissioner John Bayliss said. “We are proud to have maintained this iconic building for the community.”
“The renovation of our courthouse has been an evolving process,” recently appointed Commissioner Joe Antram said, “that has had its twists and turns. But we are now on track and we are confident that our efforts will result in a safe and functional historical landmark of which we will all be proud.”
“This finished product will be a treasure for future generations,” Commissioner Dustin Wickersham said. “The improved facility will be much more functional and efficient.
“We had anticipated that the project would have been completed sooner. However, we are confident the efforts will be worth it in the long run.”
The renovation project came about after a June 29, 2012, derecho nearly toppled the courthouse clock tower.
