Renovating and restoring the Logan County Courthouse is in the final stages, but it still will take months to make it ready for occupancy.

More than five years have passed since a June 29, 2012, derecho nearly toppled the original tower and opened the door for inside and outside renovations and improvements.
Critics say it has taken too long and too much money, but the Logan County Commissioners remain resolute they have made the best decision.
“We could’ve torn it down and replaced it with something new like Seneca County,” Commissioner Dustin Wickersham. “They spent more and got less than we will have.
“And unlike Auglaize County, we didn’t get the luxury to plan for years before starting. It was thrust upon us.”
