BMS receives special recognition
Bellefontaine City Schools officials reported at the Monday evening board of education meeting that the district’s recently released 2016-17 school year report card issued by the Ohio Department of Education demonstrates student gains that are being achieved across different grade levels.
“I am very pleased with the progress students are making district-wide in most areas,” Superintendent Brad Hall said. “The district will continue to analyze the data very closely and continue to develop plans to address the areas where students are not making the expected progress and support the work of the staff.”
Related to student growth, Hall noted that Bellefontaine Middle School continues to receive state accolades on this most recent report card for its achievements in the Progress measure.
The BMS building received As in each of the components in this section. This performances ranks the building 27th among the 3,098 school buildings in Ohio, or in the top 1 percent.
“Bellefontaine Middle School continues to be an award-winning, state-ranked, middle school that earns recognition every year for high-quality education and exceptional academic growth from all students,” the superintendent said. “Bellefontaine Middle school takes great pride in the accomplishments of the students and staff.”
