Timothy L. Slavin, 24, of 1000 Heritage Court, was charged Monday with two counts of violating a protection order. He was calling Stephanie Burton from the Logan County Jail and directing another woman to send text messages to the victim.
While officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department were interviewing the victim on Saturday, he called once again from the jail.

Women charged in attacks
Sherri L. Brown, 42, of 317 Plumvalley St., was charged Sunday with assault.
She allegedly attacked Ashley Wintersteller outside 830 N. Main St. around 5 a.m. The victim sustained facial injuries and claimed she lost consciousness.
When questioned Sunday afternoon, Brown admitted to assaulting the victim. She was upset with her husband, Jimmy Brown and the victim.

• Lisa Billing, 49, of 116 N. Elm St., was charged Tuesday with domestic violence.
Officers were called to her residence around 2:45 a.m. She allegedly attacked David Harber inside the residence, and scratched and gouged his face and neck.
She was lodged in jail.
Alcohol related charges
Dallas McKinley, 42, of 401 W. Brown Ave., Apt. 2, was arrested Tuesday for public intoxication.
Around 7:20 p.m., he arrived at 208 W. Brown Ave. extremely intoxicated and would not leave, according to resident Nancy K. Neely.
Officers took him into custody and lodged him in jail.
• Quinten R. James, 29, of 301 N. Madriver St., was charged Sunday with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs
He was stopped and cited for reckless operation and squealing tires around 1:35 a.m.
An officer observed him accelerate at a high rate speed on Madriver Street at Columbus Avenue.
Field sobriety tests were given after the officer detected an odor of alcohol while talking with the motorist. The tests indicated he was impaired and he was taken in for a breathalyzer sample. It was 0.108.
• Christine Whetsel, 54, of 216 St. Paris St., was charged Saturday with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and cited for failure to drive in the marked lanes of the road.
She was observed nearly driving onto railroad tracks as she turned from Garfield Avenue onto McKinley Street around 1 a.m. She continued onto westbound Columbus Avenue and drove across the center line.
She refused field sobriety tests and was arrested, officers report.
She submitted to a breathalyzer test and produced a 0.221 reading.
• Stephanie Wilson, 31, of 228 E. Chillicothe Ave., was charged Monday with theft and public intoxication after she tried to leave Kroger, 2129 S. Main St., without paying for hot dogs, buns, potatoes, onions and sauerkraut around 7 p.m.
Officers report she appeared intoxicated and was disheveled.
She was lodged in jail.
