Clyde R. Watkins, 88, of Quincy, passed away at 11:08 p.m. on Wednesday, June 6, 2018, at Ohio Hospice of Dayton. He was born in Shelby County on Nov. 24, 1929, to the late Clyde Coleman and Nellie Goldie Shoffner Watkins.
On March 25, 1950, Clyde married the former Bessie Mae Goings in DeGraff and she preceded him in death Feb. 12, 2011. He was also preceded in death by his daughter, Vicki Bell; four sisters; and eight brothers.
Clyde is survived by his daughter, Debra Clair Watkins of Bellefontaine; three sons, Mark Watkins of Dayton, Tim “Bo” Watkins of DeGraff and Rick (Cindy) Watkins of St. Paris; 17 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; a great-great granddaughter; and several nieces and nephews.
He had worked as a security guard for the Stolle Corporation in Sidney and attended the Church of Christ in Christian Union in Quincy.
Callins is from 5 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, June 13, at Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 210 W. Hayes Street, DeGraff. Pastor John Shelton l officiates a graveside service at 11 a.m. Thursday, June 14, in Greenwood-Union Cemetery in DeGraff.
