Clifford C. Richardson, 69, of Marysville and formerly of Bellefontaine, passed away Saturday evening, April 8, 2017, at Lima Memorial Hospital.
Cliff was born in Bellefontaine on Jan. 22, 1948, to the late Curtis J. and Luella M. Latimer Richardson. He was also preceded in death by a half-brother, William H. Shields and his sister-friend, Beverley Anne Daniels.
Cliff is survived by his wife, Stephanie Organ Richardson of Marysville, whom he married April 2, 1972, in Bellefontaine; children, Curtis (Patricia) Richardson of Canal Winchester, Benjamin (Jennifer) Richardson of Hamilton and Kara (Naoto) Nakanishi of Marysville; eight grandchildren, Dustin, Kaylynn, Emily, Anna, Sayuri, Christopher, Kiyo and Hadley.
A 1968 graduate of Bellefontaine High School, Cliff served his country for four years with a tour to Vietnam. He was a veteran of the U.S. Navy and was stationed on the USS Boston and the USS Talbot. Following his honorable discharge, Cliff worked several years at Rockwell and Porter’s (HBD). He then went to work at Honda of America Mfg. in Marysville where he worked as an electrician/coordinator in the maintenance department and retired after 25 years of service. He was a former member of the Masonic Lodge. Cliff enjoyed his ham radio and volunteered with the Logan County EMA during local emergencies.
Calling at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home & Cremation Center, Bellefontaine, from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday, April 12, with military honors provided at 7 p.m. by the Logan County Veterans Honor Guard. A private family burial will be at a later date in Fairview-McDonald Cemetery.
