Shirley Evelyn Kerr, 84, of Bellefontaine, passed away Friday morning, April 7, 2017, at Heartland of Bellefontaine.
She was born in Rosewood on Oct. 22, 1932, to the late Stanley William and Alma Eleanor Pickering Ward. Shirley was also preceded in death by a son, Terry Kerr.
She married John Kerr Sr. on Aug. 25, 1950, in Stony Creek Church, DeGraff, and he survives. Also surviving are children, John (Carol) Kerr Jr. of Villa Hills, Ky., Jerry (Lynn) Kerr of Whitehouse and Ted (Sherry) Kerr of Bellefontaine; two beloved grandchildren: Crystal and Rowan; and siblings, Vincent Ward of Indiana, Wilda (Paul) Baughman of California and Verna Fielder and Marvin (Carole) Ward, both of DeGraff; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A 1950 graduate of DeGraff High School, she enjoyed gardening. After raising her family, she worked in the shipping department at AcuSport for 18 years before she retired. Shirley was a member of Stony Creek Church of the Brethren.
Calling is from 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, at the Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, 210 W. Hayes St. DeGraff. Burial is at a later date in Greenwood-Union Cemetery.
