Officers from the Russells Point Police Department and Washington Township Police Department with the assistance of the Waynesfield Police Department K-9 unit executed a search warrant at a Russells Point residence that resulted in a drug trafficking arrest Monday morning.
Scott Thomas Godwin, 29, of 148 W. Wilgus Dr., Russells Point, was lodged in the Logan County Jail on the felony charge about 12:30 a.m.
During the search warrant served at his residence, officers seized numerous types of suspected illicit narcotics, manufacturing equipment, and multiple psilocybin-producing mushrooms, as well as mushroom cultivation materials from the residence and an outbuilding.
Marijuana, cash and drug abuse instruments were also seized.
Also while at the residence, officers were able to safely capture an aggressive canine. The canine was lodged in the kennels at the Logan County Sheriff’s Office.
The joint investigation by Russells Point officers and Washington Township officers was launched after multiple complaints from concerned citizens.
Additional charges are pending for Godwin.
