Centerville’s late surge too much for Bellefontaine in sectional semifinal
VANDALIA — A physical and athletic Centerville team imposed its will down the stretch to end Bellefontaine’s season here Tuesday night.

The 11th-seeded Chiefs trailed the fifth-seeded Elks by just two points at halftime and by five midway through the fourth quarter, but Centerville dominated the final four minutes to pull away for a 57-42 victory in a Division I boys sectional semifinal at the Vandalia Butler Student Activities Center.
The Elks outscored the Chiefs 22-15 in the third quarter.
“As always, Coach (Brook) Cupps’ teams are always disciplined and they were able to grind it out in the fourth quarter,” said Bellefontaine head coach Jason Calton. “They waited for us to make mistakes and they pounced on them.”
