Riverside’s boys basketball team got off to a slow start and was unable to recover in a 52-41 loss to Lehman Catholic in a Three Rivers Conference game Friday night.
The Pirates are now 3-3 overall and 1-3 in the TRC. The Cavaliers improve to 3-3, 1-2.
Riverside mustered just three points in the first quarter to fall down 8-3. The Pirates trailed 19-13 at halftime.
Lehman pushed its lead to 13 points (34-21) after three quarters and the Cavaliers stayed in control in the final period to wrap up the win.
Myles Platfoot led the Pirates with 12 points and Gavin Orsborne had 10 points. Ayden Clary and Kaleb Schindewolf chipped six points each.
Justin Chapman scored a game-high 21 points to lead Lehman.
In the junior varsity game, Riverside lost 44-35. Dylan Cooper and Dylan Burchett each had eight points for the Pirates.
Riverside’s freshman team beat the Cavaliers 47-37. Camden Shoe led the Pirates with 21 points and 10 rebounds and Hayden Sanford had 11 points and two steals.
Riverside is back in action Tuesday at Miami East.
