Bear Hollow chainsaw artist finishes fifth year at fair

Sculpting is a lot like playing guitar, a local pastor explains.
“That’s something you can’t practice to do. You have to have it in your head,” Bill Jones, an associate pastor with the Hi-Point Free Will Baptist Church, said as he watched Jason Emmons carve a billy goat out of a log Friday.
“It’s a gift from God. Either you have it or you don’t.”
While Emmons has the gift, Jones said he wasn’t so blessed.
“I’ve tried to play guitar since 1970, but I still can’t play,” the pastor said. “You know there are 7,488 chords on a guitar. You can’t memorize all those, you just have to have a gift.”
