STERLING and CAMPBELL-SHAMBLIN |
Bellefontaine Intermediate School student Tegan Campbell-Shamblin was named the winner of the school’s spelling bee this week by correctly spelling the championship word, “daunted.”
Fellow fifth-grader Cooper Sterling was the runner-up. Both pupils will compete at the Logan County Spelling Bee in January.
In total, 23 BIS fifth-grade students competed at the school’s annual spelling bee. The competition lasted for 12 rounds, with Tegan and Cooper as the only participants in the last four rounds.
Also in January, Tegan will take an online spelling and vocabulary test to attempt to qualify for the next level in the Scripps National Spelling Bee.
