Calvin M. Caldwell, 84, of Bellefontaine, passed away Tuesday morning, Jan. 19, 2016, at Green Hills Retirement Community, West Liberty.
He was born in Crawford County on Aug. 7, 1931, to the late Harry and Ruth Beal Caldwell.
On Dec. 21, 1956, he married the former Charlotte M. Grimes in West Liberty and she preceded him in death Oct. 16, 2010. He also was preceded in death by sisters, Mary Eva Skinner and Eleanor Froebe; brother, James Caldwell; and daughter-in-law, Mary Beth Caldwell.
Retired from National Extrusion after 34 years of service, he also operated Caldwell’s Hatchery with his family in Bellefontaine for many years. He was a member of the Bellefontaine First United Methodist Church, Bellefontaine Masonic Lodge 209 F&AM, Past High Priest 60 and Past Elective Council 85.
Calvin is survived by a daughter, Linda Kay (Lavoy) Thompson of North Lewisburg; son, Curtis Neal Caldwell of Springfield, Ill.; granddaughters, Rachel Caldwell and Courtney Caldwell; a sister, Beatrice Froebe of Bellefontaine; and several nieces and nephews.
Pastor Harry Kearns officiates a funeral at noon Friday, Jan. 22, at the Eichholtz Daring & Sanford Funeral Home, Bellefontaine, with visitation two hours prior and a Masonic service at 11 a.m. Burial is in Bellefontaine Cemetery.
