Calvary Christian’s girls basketball team rolled past visiting Sidney Christian 40-14 last Friday on senior night.
The Spartans improve their record to 4-7.
Calvary Christian outscored Sidney Christian 9-2 after the opening quarter and went on an 11-6 run in the second quarter. That put the Spartans on top 20-8 at halftime.
Mataya Penhorwood sparked Calvary in the second half with nine steals and three assists. The Spartans used an 11-6 run to build a 31-12 advantage. They wrapped up the win with a 9-2 effort in the final quarter.
Elisha Carter powered the Spartan offense with 23 points, while senior Maddie McGillis had six points and 12 rebounds.
Calvary Christian concludes the regular season Saturday against the Ohio Eagles.
