Blue Jacket Dairy of Logan County, 1434 County Road 11, was awarded a ribbon at the 2017 Ohio State Fair Cheese Competition that included seven categories of Ohio-made cheese.
Blue Jacket’s popular Lemon Jewel Quark, a creamy sweet breakfast cheese, placed second in the “Soft and Spreadable Cheese” category. It also placed second in the category at the 2016 state fair.
Lemon Jewel Quark is made from pasteurized whole cow’s milk, fresh lemon zest and a touch of sweetness. Blue Jacket quark is also available garlic-flavored or plain.
“It is an honor to receive an award for our Lemon Jewel Quark,” cheesemaker Angel King said, “and it is our pleasure to provide our customers with this delicious award-winning cheese.”
