Officials from Benjamin Logan High School announced this week that student Jacob McKenrick scored in the top 2.5 percent of high school juniors on the PSAT/NMSQT.
The Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test is the route of entry to the National Merit Scholarship Program.
A son of Christopher and Jennifer McKenrick, Jacob has been invited to apply for The College Board National Recognition Programs, which recognizes students in a region who identify as attending school in a rural area or are from a small town.
To be considered, students must complete a brief online application. A school official must complete supporting online verification for each student. The physical awards for all recognized students are sent directly to a school official to distribute at the school level sometime after July.
Participation in the CBRP enables students to highlight their outstanding educational achievements to top colleges and universities and is considered a prestigious recognition.
