Indian Lake’s cross country program hosted the Jean Newmeyer Memorial Invitational on Saturday, with both Indian Lake teams finishing in sixth place.
Benjamin Logan’s girls turned in another strong showing by finishing third in their race.
New Bremen won the girls race with 45 points, Fort Recovery was second with 59 points and the Raiders had 80 points for their third-place effort. The Lady Lakers had 125 points to take sixth.
The Raiders were led by Georgia Bates, who finished third in a time of 20:52.9. Estella Wenger was fifth in the 21:05.1, Mylee Boysel finished 18th (22:42.7), Kerry Copenhaver was 20th (22:51.8), Kendra Kennedy was 41st (25:34.7), Malori Barnes finished 43rd (25:46.7), Libby Siefring was 46th (26:06.1), Sarah Folk finished 48th (26:10), Nora Elliott was 49th (26:14.9), Allie Fay was 53rd (27:11.7), McKenzee Roseburrough was 61st (32:30) and Shelby Watkins was 62nd (35:06.7).
For Indian Lake, KaeLea Miller led the way in 10th (22:05) and Hannah Metzger was 19th (22:48).
Also for the Lakers, Elayna Richardson was 28th (23:37), Carlie Nickel finished in 36th (24:55), Rachel Wahl was 44th (25:55), Maggie Reese was 52nd (27:00), Makayla Motter finished 54th (27:14), Ariel Brielmeier was 57th (28:40) and Eva Carney took 63rd (35:37).
Lima Shawnee won the boys race with 46 points. New Bremen was second with 64 and Marion Local was third with 74. The Lakers had 145 for sixth and Ben Logan had 192 points for eighth. Grant McPherson sparked Indian Lake with a 20th-place finish (19:03).
Tony Cummins finished in 24th (19:14), Heath Wilson was 34th (19:51.1) and Brant Parsell was 35th (19:51.7).
Also for the Lakers, Daniel Wahl finished in 39th (20:02), Brody Parsell was 40th (20:02), Jacob Huhn was 42nd (21:06), Jackson McNeal was 46th (20:16), Mason Beres finished 54th (21:06), Vince Wilson was 60th (21:44), Adrian Crumley was 74th (23:55) and Caleb Altstaetter was 75th (24:04).
For Ben Logan’s boys Andy Hughes was 18th (18:46.8), Landon Zehner finished in 44th (20:13.7), Aaron Rhodes was 45th (20:15.4), Eli Rhodes was 57th (21:34.2), Gabe Mooney was 63rd (22:03) and Devon Kimble was 71st (22:47.4).
BHS boys finish 2nd, girls 4th at NU
Bellefontaine’s boys cross country team took second in the North Union Invitational on Saturday.
Marion Pleasant won the race with 39, the Chiefs had 83 points and Marion Harding had 84 points for third.
Gavin Wilson powered the Chiefs with a thirdplace finish in 16:52. Tony Stewart also made the top 10 by taking eighth in 17:20.
Also for the Chiefs, Gannon Purcell was 17th (18:07), Ollie Moreland finished 23rd (18:29), Patrick Donnelly was 33rd (19:19), Seth Taylor was 35th (19:28), Neil Kauffman finished 43rd (20:22), Xavier Sims finished 48th (20:35), Aaron Roy was 53rd (20:41), Ryan Alexander was 65th (23:01), Nick Hunter was 66th (23:02), Cooper Harman was 72nd (23:43), Wyatt Popp was 74th (24:11) and Caden Gibbs was 81st (28:55).
In the girls race, the Chiefs were fourth out of six full teams.
Kaydin Lenhart paced the Lady Chiefs in 10th (22:37), Sophie Adelsberger was 16th (23:08), Montanna Buck finished 21st (23:32), Brianna Sechrest was 23rd (23:48), Ella Reier was 26th (24:09), Aubrey Hudson finished 29th (24:25), Mia Delong was 32nd (24:29), Zoey Rister finished 34th (24:32), Lizzy Foreman was 49th (27:10), Maggie Howard finished 50th (27:20), Lexie Yoder was 57th (27:40), Naomi Washburn finished 58th (28:28), Avery Hankins finished 63rd (30:47) and Renee Thornhill was 66th (33:44).
