Benjamin Logan’s boys basketball team relied on its three-point shooting for an extra edge Friday to put away visiting Triad 74-58 in a local non-league meeting.
The Raiders, who knocked down 15 three-point shots, picked up their third win of the season to reach 3-4. The Cardinals stay winless at 0-4.
Trey Allen shot a three-pointer to end the first quarter and give Ben Logan a 17-12 lead. The Raiders continued to heat up on offense in the second quarter and outscored the Cardinals 22-17 for a 10-point lead (39-29) at halftime.
Triad stayed in catch up mode during third quarter as Ben Logan used an 18-15 run to build a 57-44 advantage. The Raiders capped the win with a 17-14 effort in the fourth quarter.
Davontae Fahle led the Raiders and all scorers with 21 points on Friday, while teammates Ethan Ricketts tallied 14 points and Trey Allen had 13 points.
For the Cardinals, Batai Lease led the charge with 14 points, Dillon Nott and Ayden Spriggs both had 11 points and Greg Sizemore added eight points.
In junior varsity action, Ben Logan defeated Triad 53-42. Kaden Arn led the Raiders with 16 points and Alec Rodenberger had 14 points.
For the freshman, Ben Logan edged Triad 28-26. Tyler Knight paced the Raiders with 10 points and Lukas Hemmelgarn had nine points.
Ben Logan travels to Marion Harding on Monday for another non-league contest.
