Members of the National Guard assist with the Second Harvest Food Bank distribution recently at Benjamin Logan Schools. School officials report that the food distribution will continue to be available to district residents throughout the summer months Thursdays from noon to 2 p.m. (or until the food runs out) in the district’s bus garage. Each week, Benjamin Logan employees including teachers, educational assistants, administrators, food service staff, transportation staff and others have stepped up to help organize the shipment and distribute the food. A variety of fresh and non-perishable food items have been part of the distribution, including cheese, bread, milk, eggs, fresh fruits, breakfast bars, juices, canned items, skillet meals, rice, applesauce, soups, peanut butter and many others. Participants are asked to have an area cleared in their vehicles so that items can be placed inside. Direct questions to Jann McBrien at (937) 593-9211 ext. 1007.
