The Logan County Electric Cooperative recently awarded Michael Kettler, Benjamin Logan High School teacher, a $5,000 Operation Round Up grant to support funding for a LabQuest set, which is a standalone and computer interface for Vernier sensors.
Students will be able to use its color touch screen to collect, graph, and analyze data in their classroom or in the field.
In addition, Benjamin Logan teachers Lora James, Joslin Lee, and Gretchen Powell received grant award checks this week from the Logan County Electric Cooperative through their Energizing Education program, which rewards creative learning ideas that are not part of the regular school budget or curriculum, as follows:
• Mrs. James’ grant is titled, “Click, Snap, and Zap” for the Benjamin Logan FFA in the amount of $443.12.
• Mrs. Powell’s grant, “Sixth Grade Open Mic Poetry Party” will benefit sixth grade language arts students in the amount of $500.
• Mrs. Lee’s grant in the amount of $423.88 will benefit high school students with additional supplies as they complete science fair projects.
