Bellefontaine’s varsity bowling teams opened the season Friday by taking second place in a tri-match with Sidney and Mechanicsburg at T-P Lanes.
Sidney won the boys match with 2,804. The Chiefs had 2,740 and Mechanicsburg was third with 2,582.
Bellefontaine’s boys were led by Daniel Weikart with games of 235 and 245 for a 480 series.
Ian Salyer had games of 188 and 213 for a 401 series, Dillon Robb rolled a 198 game, Kyle Southard had a 197 game and Robby Weikart added a 189 game for the Chiefs.
Mechanicsburg won the varsity girls match with a 2,234. Bellefontaine was next with a 2,022 and Sidney was third with 1,883.
For the Chiefs, Madison Aldo led the way with a 192 game and 358 series. Lauren Heminger posted a 175 game and 335 series.
Bellefontaine’s junior varsity teams also were in action. Sidney won the boys JV match with 2,135. Bellefontaine was second with 2,100 and Mechanicsburg was third with 1,738.
