Matthew Gilligan, 35, of Newark, was charged with public intoxication following an incident Saturday evening at Froggy’s at the Lake, 11065 Township Road 293, Lakeview.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office who were working security at the bar about 9 p.m. observed that Mr. Gilligan was escorted from the bar by an employee. He reportedly was highly intoxicated and said he didn’t have money to pay for his tab.
In the parking lot, the defendant began causing problems with others who were outside. Deputies spoke with him and attempted to help him find transportation home. He failed to comply with their requests and was placed under arrest.
At the Logan County Jail, he was belligerent with corrections officers and was placed in a restraint chair.
