The Indian Lake Area Chamber of Commerce and Indian Lake State Park combine to host the annual Maple Syrup Festival from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, March 19, and 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday, March 20, at Indian Lake State Park, 12774 N. State Route 235, Lakeview.
Chamber volunteers serve a pancake and sausage breakfast in the campground commissary. Nearly 2,500 pancakes are flipped during the course of this two-day event, using about 210 pounds of pancake batter, 300 pounds of sausage and 21 gallons of maple syrup.
The event includes wagon rides through the park to the tapping area, syrup processing demonstrations at the Sugar Shack, petting zoo and entertainment by Madriver Valley Dulcimer Society and Kids Dulcimer Group. The Indian Lake Development Corporation sells pure maple syrup.
