A new notification system alerts residents in the village of West Liberty directly of public announcements by phone or email.
An annual agreement with Towne Monitoring for the service was approved for $1,500, according to action taken at the most recent meeting of the village council.
The service allows residents to opt in to an alert system that would notify them by email, call or text of announcements regarding trash and/or recycling pickups; boil alerts; snow removal; street sweeping; or any other village business.
A $350 set up for the village also applies to connecting the service, according to the action taken by council.
