Ohio Hi-Point Career Center Treasurer Eric Adelsberger will fill the treasurer’s role in the interim as Benjamin Logan seeks a replacement for outgoing treasurer Robert Kuehnle.
The district’s board of education approved the temporary appointment during its regular meeting Monday in the middle school, where board members were treated to student-led tours of the facility during the building’s open house prior to video presentations during the meeting in the media center.
Mr. Kuehnle, who served the district 12 years, accepted the treasurer’s position with Mansfield City Schools, effective Feb. 1, and has served as Mansfield’s interim treasurer since early January. Mr. Adelsberger will serve in the interim capacity at Ben Logan from Feb. 1 through June 30, at a rate of $75 per hour, until a permanent replacement is hired. He has been working with the district as a consultant since Jan. 12 at the same rate.
Also among the open house and meeting guests were Columbus-based resident artist Duarte Brown and his colleague, an inspirational speaker and motivator, Donte Woods, who led students in creating a “living trees” mural that encompasses an entire wall outside the media center. The trees trunks resemble humans with handprints from every middle school student making up the leaves of the trees. A feature story in the Examiner on Nov. 5 detailed the project.
