PRAGER |
Brandon M. Prager, 21, of 117 W. Patterson Ave., was arrested Sunday for abduction and attempted felonious assault.
Around 12:15 a.m. officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department were dispatched to a dispute and located Grace Boehmfeldt outside her 117 W. Patterson Ave residence. She had blood on her face and lips and bruising on her neck. She was shaking in fear, officers report.
Prager began yelling at her while he approached and officers took him into custody. Boehmfeldt said the suspect began yelling at her so she retreated to her bedroom.
Prager allegedly followed and would not let her leave the room. When she tried to force her way by him, he allegedly shoved her head into a wall and then onto the bed.
She said he beat her and strangled her until she nearly passed out.
She was able to struggle free, but the assault continued throughout the residence. He repeatedly banged her head into floors and walls causing her vision to blur.
She begged him to take her to a hospital but he loaded a handgun and pointed it at her. He finally agreed to take her to the hospital and they left with another housemate along in the vehicle. Prager, however, stopped and turned around telling Boehmfeldt he wouldn’t let her ruin his “dreams and goals.”
Once back at the residence, she was able to run away from him.
Officers called for a squad and had the victim show them to her room as they waited for the ambulance. There, they recovered a loaded 9mm handgun , 20-gauge shotgun and brass knuckles.
Prager was lodged in the Logan County Jail. Boehmfelt was transported to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment.
