Sarah Gardner, 24, of 553 Eastern Ave., was cited Saturday for leaving the scene of a crash, failure to control, no operator license and driving under suspension.
Around 11:35 p.m., officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department were dispatched to the 300 block of Ludlow Road and found a sport utility vehicle on its driver’s side. The vehicle was registered to Gardner’s grandmother, Barbara Powell, who also lives at 533 Eastern.
A passenger in the car provided a description of the motorist but did not know her name as he was merely getting a ride home.
Gardner was found at the residence with self-inflicted wounds. She was taken by a Bellefontaine squad to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment.
She was interviewed after treatment and admitted to driving the SUV.
Task force arrests suspect
Kenneth Wilkinson Jr., 31, of 717 Euclid St., was arrested Friday on warrants for trafficking in crack cocaine and two counts of trafficking in methamphetamines as a result of a Logan County Joint Drug Task Force investigation.
Around 4 p.m., he was found at 700 Euclid St. and taken into custody with assistance from officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department. Task force.
Detectives say Wilkinson travels outside the county and returns with methamphetamine, crack cocaine and heroin to sell.
He was found with $400 at the time of his arrest. He was lodged in the Logan County Jail.
Motorist charged with OVI
Kayla Ferrara, 26, of 1600 S. Detroit St., Apt. 37, was charged Saturday with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs and cited for stop sign violations and not using a safety belt.
An officer on patrol observed her driving past stop signs at Iron Avenue and Detroit and Clarkson Avenue and Detroit around 1:55 a.m. She was stopped outside her residence.
Suspecting she had been drinking alcohol, the officer conducted field sobriety tests which indicated Ferrara was impaired by alcohol. She did not provided a breathalyzer sample.
