Jonathan D. Elkins, 32, of 208 S. Main St., Quincy, was charged with criminal trespass, menacing, possession of drugs and disorderly conduct following an incident in Quincy Wednesday morning.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched about 9:30 a.m. to 211 S. Miami St. in the village to speak with a resident about an unwanted guest at the property.
The resident said a man who was unknown to her had been in her yard and made threats when she asked him to leave. She said he had frightened her and several children at the home.
She had taken a picture of the suspect, and deputies identified him as Elkins.
Elkins was located at his residence, and while speaking with him in his bedroom, deputies recovered a knife from his pocket and a can of mace/pepper spray nearby him when he sat up in bed.
Deputies also observed an odor of marijuana in his room, and they recovered several marijuana roaches and a bag of marijuana. He was placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Jail.
