Lady Chiefs set for first trip to state bowling tournament

Disbelief was the reaction when the news came that Bellefontaine’s girls bowling program had been waiting over a decade to hear.
The Chieftain girls finished fifth in the Division I Southwest District tournament last Thursday to earn the program’s first trip to the state tournament. When the announcement was made following the tourney, the Chiefs experienced a wide-ranging flood of emotions.
“I just couldn’t believe it,” said senior Angel Binfet. “I said ‘we made it’ like 20 times. At first, I was so happy and then I started bawling my eyes out. We’ve worked so hard for this. We are super proud of each other.”
