HAYMAN |
A city man was given local jail time and a woman admitted a drug charge during late Monday hearings in Logan County Common Pleas Court.
Brian Hayman, 52, of Bellefontaine, was sentenced to 30 days in the Logan County Jail, three years community control and ordered to pay court costs and attorney fees for possession of heroin.
He had also pleaded guilty to a misdemeanor endangering children charge, but was allowed to withdraw that guilty plea in recent weeks.
He admitted to injecting heroin while watching his 8-year-old granddaughter.
Police were called to the residence March 1 and were allowed into the home where they found him in the bathroom with a hypodermic needle in the trash can next to him. He admitted he had just abused the drug. Officers recovered the needle and a spoon with drug residue.
• Ashley Mundy, 33, of Bellefontaine, pleaded guilty to possession of drugs from a late June traffic stop in the city. She was found in possession of a small quantity of cocaine after officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department smelled burnt marijuana during the stop.
She will be sentenced Jan. 17.
