Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office are investigating overdose incidents that occurred Friday evening in Lakeview and Zanesfield, where the reporting parties in the first incident were the overdose victims in the second incident.
About 8 p.m. Friday, deputies and Indian Lake EMS were dispatched to the Lakeview Laundromat, 160 N. Main St., Lakeview, on a report of an unresponsive man found in a restroom.
The victim, Nathaniel Clem, 37, address at large, was transported by Indian Lake EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital and was later transferred to Grant Medical Center in Columbus. Deputies report a belt and a spoon were found next to him in the restroom, and medical staff reportedly found a needle in his clothing.
The reporting parties from the Lakeview incident, Joshua A. Slater, 33, and Shalynn N. Parks, 25, then were involved in an incident that was reported about 9:45 p.m. at a family member’s home where they had been staying, 7316 State Route 559, Zanesfield.
Deputies and Allen Township EMS responded to that address on a report of an unresponsive man. Mr. Slater reportedly was revived, and was transported by squad to Memorial Hospital of Union County in Marysville.
Deputies reported that Ms. Parks was under the influence of some substance, and was arrested for her safety and transported to the Logan County Jail. A white powdery substance and a spoon were recovered in her purse.
