One person sustained serious injuries and three others also were injured Thursday morning when the roof of a horse barn they were working on collapsed at 2507 Township Road 55, Bellefontaine.
Emergency responders were called about 9:45 a.m. today to the Jerry Robinson property where a barn under construction at 2507 Township Road 55 collapsed seriously injuring one person who was flown from the scene by MedFlight to a Columbus hospital. The seriously injured worker was flown by MedFlight helicopter to the OSU Wexner Medical Center in Columbus, while three additional victims were transported by squads to Mary Rutan Hospital.
About 9:55 a.m., Logan County Sheriff’s Office dispatchers received the report of a barn roof that had collapsed at the property owned by Jerry Robinson, and that workers were trapped inside the 8,000-square-foot barn that was under construction.
Sheriff’s deputies and Tri-Valley, Bellefontaine, Perry and Robinaugh EMS and fire departments all responded to the scene.
Some of the workers reportedly were on top of the structure when it collapsed.
