Logan County Fair Board member Jim Baier uses a skid loader to move bleachers as Nick Melvin of Ackley Farms uses a tractor with front end loader to move dirt and Kyle Ackley, right, assists Friday at the Logan County Fairgrounds. Fair board members and other volunteers worked to prepare the grandstand, track and infield in advance of this weekend’s Joshua Keith Memorial Weekend in the Dirt. Events include the Ohio State Tractor Pulling Association’s sanctioned event beginning at 7 p.m. today and the KOI Dirt Drag at 4 p.m. Sunday. Tickets at the gate are $15 for today’s tractor pull; $10 for Sunday’s drag racing; or $20 for both days. Trackside parking for one vehicle is $25 for a single event or $40 for both events and camping is available for $40 per night. Gates open at 3 p.m. today and 11 a.m. Sunday. All proceeds benefit the Logan County Fair, which runs this year from July 11 through 16 with an additional demolition derby event Sunday, July 17. (EXAMINER PHOTO | REUBEN MEES)
