Logan County’s emergency medical technicians recognized a 25-year veteran squad member and learned more about Mary Rutan Hospital’s new plan to staff its emergency room during Thursday’s annual appreciation banquet.
The hospital hosted the dinner at the Bellefontaine First Church of God and it featured a variety of speakers including Joni Siler, a volunteer with Community Coalition for Opiate Relief Efforts.
She thanked the squad members for their work regarding opiate abuse.
Bob Beatty, a paramedic with Robinaugh squad and Riverside squad, was named Paramedic of the Year.
He was nominated by fellow Robinaugh squad member Mary Foust, who said “his professionalism always shines.”
She frequently assigns new EMTs to Mr. Beatty because of his calm demeanor.
MRH is now using TeamHealth, the nation’s largest emergency department physician staffing organization for 1,000 hospitals, to staff its emergency department.
MRH officials say with ever-changing and challenging dimensions of healthcare delivery, it is important that Mary Rutan Hospital have access to a wide array of operational support services to assist the hospital clinical providers.
