The Cougars move to 14-2 overall and 10-1 in the Kenton Trail standings. The Chiefs drop their mark to 6-13, 5-7.
“Unfortunately, we dug a hole in the first inning that we were unable to overcome,” said BHS head coach Katie Buffkin. “We were able to get eight hits, but we were not able to string them together to produce more than one run.”
Kenton Ridge got its offense going in a hurry Tuesday. The Cougars scored four runs in the first inning, two runs in the second inning and two more runs in the third inning for an 8-0 advantage.
The Chieftains scored their only run in the fifth inning.
Bailey Smith went 2-3 to lead the BHS offense.
