Riverside’s baseball team continued to dominate its Northwest Central Conference competition Thursday as the host Pirates blanked Hardin Northern 10-0 in five innings.
The Pirates are now 11-1 overall and remain unbeaten in league play at 8-0. The Polar Bears drop to 4-7, 3-4.
Riverside grabbed a 4-0 lead in the first inning, helped by a two-run home run from Hunter Kreglow.
The Pirates piled up five more runs in the fourth inning to take a 9-0 advantage. They tacked on a final run in the bottom of the fifth to earn the run-rule victory.
Landon Kelsey tossed a three-hitter for Riverside with six strikeouts to earn the win on the mound. He also went 2-3 with a double and two RBI at the plate.
Also for the Pirates, Trey Lane went 3-3 with two doubles and two RBI, Connor Cotterman had a double and two RBI, Caleb Stevens and Seth Barhorst each hit a double, Tyler Sanford had two RBI and Dakota Bollinger had one RBI.
