John M. Messer Jr., 23, of 500 Gunntown Road, Apt. A9, was charged Saturday with domestic violence.
Officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department responded to the apartment complex around 7:50 p.m. and found the suspect on a third floor balcony with his father. He was extremely agitated, according to officers’ reports, and they quickly made their way up to the apartment.
Inside, they found the suspect, his father, his brother and his girlfriend, Kyli Stewart, of the same address, and the couple’s three daughters.
Stewart told officers she had left the apartment to go to the store while the suspect slept and his father watched the girls. The suspect woke while she was gone and became upset.
When she returned home, he allegedly flew into a rage, pinned Stewart down on a bed, punched a hole in a wall and slammed his head into a closet door.
He was taken into custody for transport to the Logan County Jail. While en route, he became agitated and began slamming his head into a cruiser’s plexiglass divider. He was placed in a restraint chair at the jail.
Neighborhood dispute results in charges
Chester W. Inman, 45, of 118 W. Brown Ave., was charged Friday with persistent disorderly conduct and assault.
Officers responded at 8:45 p.m. to a fight between neighbors, and upon arrival, learned there had been verbal exchanges between Inman and Dallas McKinley and between Inman and Tiarra Lewis.
Inman allegedly cursed at Lewis and spat in her face.
While officers were investigating the complaint, Inman continued to yell vulgarities and racial slurs at Lewis.
He was arrested and lodged in jail.
Student faces assault charge
Rayden A. Schindler, 17, of 228 N. Detroit St., was charged April 7 with delinquency assault after an 11:50 a.m. incident at Bellefontaine High School, 555 E. Lake Ave.
He allegedly charged after another student in the cafeteria and tried to hit the intended victim who had an arm in a sling. Two other male students intervened and where struck by Rayden. Both were checked by the school nurse for injuries.
Man faces intoxication charge
Nathaniel G. Jones, 20, at large, was charged Monday with public intoxication and underage consumption of alcohol.
Around 10:30 p.m., officers responded to 227 N. Detroit St. after Jones showed up intoxicated, entered the residence and urinated on the floor of the laundry room.
He was lodged in jail.
Motorists cited
Joshua A. Lantz, 43, of 125 S. Troy St., was cited for failure to control after he rode his motorcycle north across the parking lot of residence and into a privacy fence at 3:15 p.m. Sunday.
He was not injured and the motorcycle sustained minor damage.
• Allie A. Ziegler, 22, of Bellefontaine, was cited for failure to stop for a school bus at 8:25 a.m. Friday on west Sandusky Avenue. The bus was stopped eastbound picking up children when Ziegler passed eastbound in a car.
