New members, officers sworn in
Logan County Board of Developmental Disabilities members approved at their Thursday evening meeting a $1,000 donation to an effort to establish a 211 telephone helpline in Logan County.
Representatives said the United Way of Logan County is coordinating the project to bring 211 to the county, and is seeking funding for the initiative.
More than 90 percent of Ohioans can access the 211 information helpline, but at this time, the service is not available locally. The helpline connects callers to information about critical health and human services in their community.
For the first meeting of the new year, two new board members, Bridget Hawkins and Scott Steiner, were sworn in and the new officers, Bonnie Versele, president; Valerie Robb, vice president; and Frank Giannola, recording secretary.
