Women’s center director introduced at Celebration of Life event

When West Liberty resident Sarah Fisher was attending Geneva College to complete her bachelor’s degree, she had plans of one day continuing with graduate studies and becoming a forensic psychologist.
But an internship she embarked on radically changed her future career path, and she discovered a new passion for counseling women. Her interest now has transformed into a new role, as she has been named the Bellefontaine center director of New Path Pregnancy Resource Centers.
She shared some of her experiences Friday evening during the non-profit organization’s Celebration of Life event, hosted at Calvary Baptist Church, 1140 Rush Ave., on the 43rd anniversary of Roe vs. Wade and Doe vs. Dalton decisions that legalized abortion.
“I never planned to work with clients. I thought I’d pursue a more academic route,” the West Liberty-Salem High School graduate said. “But a college internship I completed at the Women’s Center of Beaver County (in Pennsylvania) completely changed my mind.
“God showed me that He wanted me to work with underprivileged women. He wanted me to pour my heart into them through Christ.
“Fast forward to about a year later, and I was living in West Liberty and this opportunity with New Path came about.”
