A strong first half helped Lehman Catholic’s girls basketball team sink visiting Riverside 50-29 on Thursday in Northwest Central Conference action.
The Pirates drop to 4-8 overall and 1-1 in the NWCC, while the Cavaliers move to 5-6, 3-0.
Lehman took control early with a 25-8 run in the first quarter. The Cavaliers went on to take a 35-10 cushion at halftime.
The second half was more of the same as the Cavaliers stayed in control.
Aubrey Stephens led the Pirates with eight points and Shelby Giles had six points and seven steals.
In junior varsity action, Riverside topped Lehman 22-10. Kierstyn Severt led the Pirates with six points.
Riverside hosts Troy Christian on Saturday in a non-league game.
