Brothers Adam W. Houchins, 25, of 175 N. Main St., Lakeview, and Jordan A. Houchins, 27, of 305 Wren Ave., Bellefontaine, each was charged with persistent disorderly conduct following an incident early Friday morning.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office responded about 12:10 a.m. to the area of C.J.’s Bar, 105 E. Lake St., Lakeview, on a report of a fight. Washington Township Police officers also responded to the call.
Deputies observed that both defendants had scrapes and blood on their hands, arms and faces, and both men were highly intoxicated.
Jordan reportedly had been in an argument inside the bar, and then went outside to fight. Adam reportedly tried to intervene to get his brother to leave, and then the two brothers got into an altercation.
They were placed under arrest and transported to the Logan County Jail.
• Christopher J. Stachler, 38, of 161 Burkhart Ave., Russells Point, was charged Friday morning with disorderly conduct following an incident in West Mansfield.
Deputies responded about 12:30 a.m. to the area of south Main Street in West Mansfield on a report of an altercation involving a man and a woman.
The woman reportedly went to a nearby residence, and deputies spoke with her there. She reportedly was heavily intoxicated and would not cooperate with deputies. She had not sustained any visible injuries.
Deputies checked the area for Mr. Stachler, and could not locate him. However, he called the sheriff’s office a short time later, and said he had walked to the area of state routes 47 and 292. Deputies noted that he was intoxicated, and he was transported to the jail.
Man arrested after wood-cutting incident
Thomas D. Riley, 57, of 10727 County Road 153, East Liberty, was charged with assault Sunday after an incident at his residence.
Deputies responded to a report of a fight at the home, where Tim Long, 59, of Bellefontaine, and two of Mr. Riley’s family members had been outside cutting wood.
Mr. Long said Mr. Riley made a gesture at him, and then went inside the residence. Mr. Riley then reportedly came outside again and struck Mr. Long with a stick.
Deputies observed signs that Mr. Long had been struck with a stick. The other two individuals also collaborated Mr. Long’s account. Mr. Riley was transported to the jail.
15-year-old driver cited in crash
Zackery A. Close, 15, of Bellefontaine, was cited for no operator’s license and failure to control after a one-vehicle crash about 7:20 a.m. Thursday.
Deputies report he was operating a southbound pickup on Township Road 32 just south of County Road 11 when he drove off the right side of the road and struck a utility pole.
The driver was checked at the scene for possible injuries by Bellefontaine EMS personnel. He was not transported.
Several passengers reportedly were in the vehicle, but none of them was licensed to drive, deputies report.
• Mikala Lykins, 17, of Lakeview, was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead following a non-injury crash about 12:45 p.m. Thursday.
She reportedly was operating a northbound pickup on State Route 235 near Powhatan Path when she struck the rear of a northbound car that had stopped in traffic. The car was operated by Frederick S. Warren, 19, of Ottawa.
Damage was moderate to both vehicles. The drivers were wearing their seat belts.
