Three people were arrested Sunday with a variety of drug offenses as officers of the Bellefontaine Police Department served a warrant Sunday.
Charged were:
• George L. Prater, 41, of 413 E. Sandusky Ave.: trafficking in drugs, trafficking in heroin and possession of drug abuse instruments;
• Jennifer D. Line, 42, of 1204 Cornish Drive, DeGraff: illegal possession of prescription drugs; and
• Christopher L. Lane, 35, of 915 Rush Ave.: possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Around 9:25 p.m., Mr. Prater, who was wanted on numerous warrants, was spotted by an off-duty police officer with the other suspects in a vehicle at Speedway, 600 E. Sandusky Ave. Officers were about to converge on the area to arrest him on warrants when the suspects left and traveled to Family Video, 134 N. Main St.
There, the car was blocked in by a cruiser and Mr. Lane exited from the rear seat. Mr. Prater was removed from the back seat and placed in handcuffs.
Six units of heroin were found on Mr. Prater and three units on Mr. Lane, who was observed by an officer dropping a pipe with burnt heroin residue. Mr. Prater also admitted owning a box with several syringes and a spoon was found in the rear seat
Ms. Line, who was driving, had two white pills in a glasses case inside her purse, police report.
All three were lodged in the Logan County Jail.

• Mandy L Brazzle, 37, of 913 N. Main St., was charged Friday with illegal possession of prescription drugs and possession of heroin after a 4:45 p.m. traffic stop at Plumvalley Street and Water Avenue.
She admitted to possessing two hypodermic needles and a spoon, all with heroin residue. A Lortab pill, a prescription opioid, was found inside a prescription bottle for a different type of medicine.
Two face intoxication charges
Timothy J. Lewellyn, 56, of 147 W. High Ave., was charged with public intoxication Friday. Around 1:10 a.m., officers observed two women trying to help him get home.
He fell several times despite their efforts. He was arrested and was taken to jail.
• Jason E. Showalter, 40, of Delaware, was charged with public intoxication around 11:45 p.m. Thursday. He was found intoxicated and staggering in the lobby of Comfort Inn, 260 Northview Drive.
Warrant served
Kami L. Irwin, 34, of 224 W. Brown Ave., was served a warrant Saturday for trafficking in drugs.
Women charged for lies

Amber M. Mathews, 30, of 413 E. Sandusky Ave., and April D. Anderson, 23, of 809 Heritage Court, Apt. 27, each was charged with obstruction of justice.
Officers stopped Ms. Anderson for a turn signal violation outside the Mathews residence around 6 p.m. Saturday.
Ms. Mathews lied to officers about a wanted felon living inside.
As officers were dealing with Ms. Mathews, they learned she sent a text message to the suspect to alert her the police were at the residence. The message also went to Ms. Mathews’ phone.
Ms. Mathews was lodged in jail as was Ms. Anderson when she came to the police department on Sunday.
Motorist lodged on OVI charge

John A. Stretch III, 38, of Noblesville, Ind., was charged Saturday with operating a vehicle under the influence of alcohol and/or drugs.
He was found around 8:05 p.m. Saturday in a parked car with the engine running at Village Pantry, 200 E. Sandusky Ave.
He was uncooperative with officers and was lodged in jail.
