Four adults and two children were transported to area hospitals for treatment of minor or possible injuries sustained in a crash Saturday evening on U.S. Route 33 at State Route 235.
Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report Michael M. Chapman, 39, of Waynesfield, was operating an eastbound sport utility vehicle on U.S. 33 about 9:45 p.m. A westbound SUV operated by Mary E. Burns, 25, of Lakeview, attempted to make a left turn onto S.R. 235 and was struck by Chapman’s vehicle.
Chapman was transported by BMRT squad to Lima Memorial Hospital for treatment of nonincapacitating injuries. Burns, along with her passengers, Rae Shirk, 66; Patricia Vanoss, 21; Ross Koehler, 5; and Jayce Estill, 1, all of Lakeview, each was transported by Indian Lake and Huntsville squads to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of non-incapacitating injuries or possible injuries.
Deputies said each of the occupants in both vehicles were wearing their seat belts or were properly restrained in child safety seats.
Damage was heavy to both SUVs. Burns was cited for a left turn violation.
• Kari Thompson, 45, Rushsylvania, was transported by Indian Lake squad to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of possible injuries sustained in a two-vehicle crash about 4:20 p.m. Friday.
Deputies report Michael A. Lindsey, 59, of Bellefontaine, was operating an eastbound pickup on S.R. 235 just east of State Route 366 when he struck the rear of Thompson’s SUV, which was stopped to make a turn.
Lindsey did not report any injuries and was cited for failure to maintain assured clear distance ahead. Damage was moderate to the pickup and light to the SUV.
The drivers were wearing their seat belts.
