Four Logan County pupils who are top spellers at each of their respective schools have qualified through an online test to participate in the 2021 Ohio Virtual Regional Spelling Bee Saturday, March 27.
The local participants include: Benjamin Logan Middle School fifth-grader Autumn Cline, Bellefontaine Intermediate School fifth-grader Sloan Stolly, Indian Lake Middle School seventh-grader Chazlance Moore and Riverside Middle School eighth-grader Abbigale “Abbi” Scherer.
They each earned a Top 50 score on the online test and have been invited to take part in the regional event that takes place via Zoom Webinar. The contest is conducted by Ohio University.
Each of the top spellers also participated in the 2021 Logan County Spelling Bee in January at Indian Lake High School. Chazlance was named the winner of the county contest, as previously reported in the Examiner.
