Deputies of the Logan County Sheriff’s Office report two drivers and a passenger were transported from the scene of a crash at State Route 292 and County Road 8 Sunday evening.
Drivers Demetrik Whetsel, 18, of Bellefontaine, and Brian J. Clawson, 49, of Kenton, were transported by Perry Township EMS and Allen Township EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital. Clawson sustained suspected serious injuries and Whelsel sustained minor injuries, deputies report.
A passenger in the Whetsel vehicle, Wesley A. Miller, 18, of Bellefontaine, was transported by Perry Township EMS to Mary Rutan Hospital for treatment of suspected minor injuries.
Deputies report Whetsel was operating a westbound 2015 Chrysler 200 on C.R. 8 about 10 p.m. when he failed to stop for the stop sign at S.R. 292 and struck a southbound 2017 Honda Civic operated by Clawson.
The impact of the crash sent both vehicles off the southwest side of the intersection.
Damage was heavy to both vehicles, which were towed from the scene. All of the occupants were wearing their seat belts, deputies said.
Whetsel was cited for a stop sign violation.
• Deputies report a westbound MedCare ambulance out of Columbus struck a deer about 12:35 p.m. Friday on U.S. Route 33 near County Road 37.
No injuries were reported for the ambulance operator Antishay Rahim, 24, of Grove City, and her three passengers, including a patient riding on a cot.
Damage was heavy to the ambulance.
• Deputies also are investigating a hit-skip crash that occurred about 5:30 p.m. Sunday on Township Road 30 at County Road 1.
Deputies report an unknown driver was operating an eastbound vehicle on T.R. 30 and failed to stop at the stop sign at C.R. 1. The motorist then went off the east side of C.R. 1, continuing across County Road 5 and off the south side of C.R. 5, striking a culvert and a traffic sign.
The vehicle came to rest in the intersection of C.R. 1 and County Road 5 and then left the scene.
• Beverly A. Jarrett, 63, of Bellefontaine, was cited for rules for turns at intersections relating to a non-injury crash about 2:25 p.m. Sunday.
Deputies report she was operating an eastbound sport utility vehicle on State Route 540 and made a left turn onto County Road 25. Her vehicle struck the front of a SUV operated by Stephanie M. Reed, 35, of East Liberty, that was stopped facing southbound at the stop sign.
Both drivers were wearing their seat belts. Damage was moderate to both vehicles.
